  9. How many spherical lead shots each having diameter 3 cm can be made from a cuboidal lead solid of dimensions 9 cm × 11cm × 12 cm. [Answer: 84]
  10. A well of diameter 3 cm and 14 m deep in dug. The earth, taken out of it, has been evenly spread all around it in the shape of a circular ring of width 4 m to form an embankment. Find the height of embankment? [Answer: 9/8 m]
  11. 21 glass spheres each of radius 2 cm are packed in a cuboidal box of internal dimensions 16 cm × 8 cm × 8 cm and then the box is filled with water. Find the volume of water filled in the box? [Answer: 320 cm3]
  12. A farmer connects a pipe of internal diameter 25 cm from a canal into a cylindrical tank in his field, which is 12 m in diameter and 2.5 m deep. If water flows through the pipe at the rate of 3.6 km/hr, in how much time will the tank be filled? Also find the cost of water, if the canal department charges at the rate of ₹ 0.07/m3? [Answer: 96 min, ₹19.80]
